ZIZ Shri Yantra Organic Bamboo Racerback Singlet
$50.00
DESIGN - This Original ZIZ Design is called Sri Yantra
The Sri Yantra ("sacred instrument") is a Vedic diagram formed by nine interlocking triangles that surround and radiate out from the central (bindu) point. Four isosceles triangles with the apex upwards, representing Shiva or the Masculine. Five isosceles triangles with the apex downward, symbolizing female embodiment Shakti. Thus the Sri Yantra also represents the union of Masculine and Feminine Divine. I was inspired to draw this using what are known as Penrose or Impossible Triangles. A Penrose Triangle is a type of optical illusion. It consists of a two-dimensional figure which is instantly and subconsciously interpreted by the visual system as representing a projection of a three-dimensional object. The Penrose Triangle is featured prominently in the works of artist M. C. Escher, whose earlier depictions of impossible objects partly inspired it. If a line is traced around the Penrose triangle, a 3-loop Möbius strip is formed. The subtle rendering of the Sri Yantra made from Penrose triangles gives this ancient image another dimension and upon close examination you can see the many infinite dynamic movements contained within this powerful symbol.
